Masterclass
6 NOV 2024
Bienal Artes Mediales de Santiago, Santiago, Chile
Now in its fourth edition, Cines en el Borde 2024 offers advice to audiovisual projects in the development, production and distribution stages, creating spaces for learning and exchanging experiences around artistic practices in the film and audiovisual field.
In this programme, Joseph Cutts will deliver a masterclass, providing an overview of his past curatorial work, including learnings of curating modern technologies/new media in a wider context of visual arts, the impact and connotations of touring such content overseas across the Americas, and the associated challenges that arise in an age of rapidly developing technology. Following this, Cutts will then lead into his long-term research into the cycle and formation of electronic waste, the potential of hyperaccumulators, the international recycling programme Traces of a Cathode, and the current undertaking of a two-year research residency at Forma HQ, London.
Promoted by the Chilean Corporation of Video and Electronic Arts and carried out in collaboration with Mucha Media, the program is funded by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage through the Audiovisual Fund and the Support Program for Collaborating Cultural Organisations.
