Group Exhibition
7 - 17 NOV 2024
Centro de Arte Molino Machmar: CAMM, Puerto Varas, Chile
An international group exhibition of environmentally informed installations by artists and collectives Enrique Ramirez, Joseph Cutts, Border Podcast, María José Díaz, Magdalena Solar, Natalia Cabrera and Víctor Leyton. Led by curators Constanza Güell and María Court, the exhibition encourages an interdisciplinary dialogue based on these creative languages and media, inviting reflection on essential questions. Is ecological and social restoration possible? How can we return to a community life in harmony with our environment, remembering that human beings are part of nature? What changes must occur to transform current paradigms?
Part of the FAVsur: Festival de Artes Verdes. FAV Sur combines creativity, thought and reflection to inspire positive change in our relationship with the Earth. It emerged in the southern region of Chile, in the Llanquihue Lake basin, with the idea of enriching the socio-ecological discussion through artistic creation as a relevant means of understanding the world, contributing to new proposals, disseminating knowledge and opening up fundamental questions for the care of nature.
FAV Sur brings together research, processes, dialogues and works by national and international artists, who reflect on issues related to nature conservation, ancestral knowledge and interspecies relations, through experimental and innovative works, tools and platforms in the audiovisual field, contemporary art, new media, science, philosophy and technology.
